Meta also released a standalone Instants app for iOS and Android. It connects directly to your existing Instagram account, so photos sent through it still appear in your DM inbox on Instagram.
As of mid-May 2026, the standalone app is available in select countries and still expanding. If it is not yet available in your region, the in-app Instagram version works identically.
