Plenty of shadowban tools show a confident green or red light and leave it there. We take a different path, because being honest about what public data can and cannot prove is the only way to be useful. Instagram never tells an account it has been limited, so no tool can confirm a shadowban outright. What we can do is read three real, public signals and show them to you plainly.
1. Banned and restricted hashtags
This is the most reliable signal, and the one you can act on today. Instagram restricts certain hashtags after content on them gets reported. A post using a restricted tag gets almost no reach through it, and leaning on these tags can drag down your whole account. We read the hashtags on the account's recent posts and check each one against Instagram's own restriction status, then flag any that are currently limited so you can drop them.
2. Hashtag reach, or ghost ban signals
When people talk about a ghost ban, they mean posts vanishing from hashtag feeds. We test whether the account's recent posts appear in the hashtags they used. Showing up is a healthy sign. Not showing up can point to limited distribution, but we treat it carefully: very large hashtags show mostly big accounts, so a smaller profile often will not appear even with no ban at all. That is why this signal informs the result without driving it.
3. Reach and engagement health
A sudden, sustained drop in engagement can be a sign of reduced reach. We compare the account's recent engagement against what is typical for its follower size. A number below the norm is worth watching, though content mix and seasonality matter too. For very large accounts, low per-post engagement is normal, so we do not count it against them.

If the account is private, its posts and hashtags cannot be read from public data, so the reach signals will not be available. The check works on public accounts only, which is the same limit any anonymous tool has.
How to fix an Instagram shadowban
Recovery is usually about removing the trigger and then giving Instagram normal signals for a while. These steps help in most self-reported cases.
Remove restricted hashtags. If the check found any, take them out of your recent posts and skip them going forward. This is the single most common fix.
Pause third-party apps. Automation tools that like, follow, or post for you are a frequent trigger. Disconnect them and give the account a clean stretch.
Take a short break, then post normally. A day or two off, followed by original content posted from the app itself, signals normal behavior. Avoid reposting the same caption or tags over and over.
Re-check after a week. Reach recovery is gradual. Run the check again in seven days to see whether your posts return to their hashtags.
